Lost for Five Years, “Crooked Girl” Music Video Finally Sees the Light of Day
What was once thought to be lost forever has finally found its way back.
Toronto rock outfit One In The Chamber has officially released the long-awaited music video for “Crooked Girl,” a fan-favourite track from their 2022 EP Reload. Filmed in the summer of 2021, the video spent years shelved after much of the footage was believed to have been permanently corrupted. Thanks to the incredible restoration work of longtime collaborator Kathleen Fobert, the project has finally been rescued and is ready to be shared with the world.
Shot across some of Toronto’s most beloved live music venues alongside collaborators Kathleen Fobert and Diego Perez Del Rio, the video was originally conceived as a statement against the post-pandemic closure of independent venues that helped shape the city’s thriving music community. While the world has changed since those scenes were captured, the message remains just as powerful today—a heartfelt reminder of the importance of preserving the spaces where artists, fans, and communities come together.
For the members of One In The Chamber, the release is both a celebration and a reflection on the band’s first decade together.
Since forming in 2015, the Toronto quartet has built a reputation for riff-heavy, hard-hitting rock that draws comparisons to Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Across three acclaimed EPs—I’ve Got Something To Say… (2018), Reload (2022), and The Cabin Sessions (2024)—the band has continually expanded its sound while earning recognition for electrifying live performances throughout Ontario and Quebec.
Their journey has included appearances at Canadian Music Week, NXNE, Indie Week, Sound of Music Festival, Gussapolooza, Belleterre Music Fest, and numerous other festivals, while collaborations with local businesses—including Muskoka Brewery, Hades Coffee, Sock Bro, and Chicca’s Chicken—have strengthened their connection to Toronto’s independent creative community. In 2025, the band was honoured as Best Emerging Band by Mississauga Music, further cementing their place among Canada’s rising rock acts.
As One In The Chamber celebrates ten years together, Crooked Girl serves as both a time capsule and a testament to perseverance. Once nearly erased by corrupted files, the restored video now stands as a tribute to friendship, resilience, Toronto’s live music culture, and the enduring spirit of independent rock.
