Rise Against, Destroy Boys & Koyo
March 24, 2026
Edmonton Convention Centre, Edmonton, AB
Three bands carrying the torch of rebellion and one nearly sold out venue were the perfect recipe for a Tuesday night in Edmonton.
Kicking off the night were Koyo, a Long Island based hardcore band who brought aggression, groove, and drive; to ignite a fire under the asses of the Edmonton crowd. With two releases under their belt, the band delivered a solid set. While they were new to me, I’ll definitely be checking out more of them.

Up next were Destroy Boys, a Sacramento based punk rock band, who delivered the genre exactly as it should be. Raw, gritty, and in your face. Full of “fuck you” energy, their charismatic frontperson Alexia Roditis did a great job commanding the crowd and keeping the energy high.. this is a band to watch out for!

Rise Against was tonight’s headliner, finally coming back after having to cancel their show here 3 years ago due to a positive COVID case in their touring party.
One of my all-time favourite live bands, it’s been far too long since I got to see them, and once again they proved why they are one of the GOATS. Singer Tim McIlrath has a super unique voice, and it’s just as good live as it is on the records. They’re a super tight u it, a ton of fun, and their set just felt like banger after banger. 15 songs, and not one dull moment. I love being able to take photos during songs that I absolutely love, and this time we were treated to Re-Education Through Labor, Under the Knife, and Give it All. Being able to bop away while I snap photos just makes it so much more fun!
Other highlights were Ready to Fall, Satellite, Hero of War, Swing Life Away, Prayer of the Refugee, and finishing the night strong with Savior. Rarely do I stay until the very end of the night (I despise traffic leaving packed venues), but this one was an exception. I was happy to fight my way through the horde leaving the venue, and the packed roads just to savour ever moment.
This is a band I will see every single time they come, without fail.
