Colleen Evelyn Releases Uplifting New Single “Life’s Too Sweet to Wait”

Modern country artist Colleen Evelyn is stepping into the spotlight with her latest single, “Life’s Too Sweet to Wait,” an uplifting, fiddle-driven anthem that encourages listeners to embrace the present and chase the life they truly want. Blending powerful vocals with an energetic country sound, the track highlights Colleen’s authentic storytelling and growing presence in Canada’s next wave of country artists.

First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, I’m Colleen Evelyn, a country artist from Moncton, New Brunswick. I grew up on the East Coast playing fiddle, and what makes me different is that I blend that into my music as both a singer and a fiddler, bringing those roots into a more modern country sound.

Tell us a bit about your recent release.

My current single is Moon on Fire. It was written in Nashville with a couple of top hit song writers there, Michael Jay, and Scott Barrier. It’s a song about connection and passion with a nostalgic summer theme.

Walk us through your creative progress when creating music.

For me, it always starts with something real, either a moment I’ve lived, a feeling I can’t shake, or even just a thought that keeps coming back. I usually start with lyrics because I love storytelling, and then I bring that into the studio where we build the sound around it. I don’t always have everything figured out, and I actually like it that way, it leaves space to create something that feels natural and true to the moment.

Now that the music is out, what does the ‘road ahead’ look like? Beyond tours and videos, what’s one ‘bucket list’ goal you hope to achieve with this release?

Now that the song is out, I really want it to do what it was meant to do, make people feel something and maybe even shift how they look at their life a little. Life’s Too Sweet to Wait isn’t just a song for me, it’s a mindset. So the road ahead is about getting that message out there and building something real around it. A bucket list goal for me, as simple as it sounds, would be to have a full crowd sing this song back to me.

Every artist has a ‘lightbulb moment’ where things just clicked. Looking back, what’s the one performance or milestone that made you realize, ‘Okay, this is what I was meant to do’?

My lightbulb moment actually came when I stepped away from music. I took a few years off, and my partner asked me if deep down I was really okay with not going back and not giving it everything. That question changed everything for me. After reflecting on it, I realized I would regret it, because as much as it’s a passion, it’s also a calling. That shift in mindset is what inspired Life’s Too Sweet to Wait.

We love championing Canadian talent. If you were curated a ‘Must-Listen’ playlist of emerging artists right now, who is the first person you’d add?

There’s a lot of great country talent coming out of Canada right now, especially on the East Coast. I typically listen to a lot of female artists, but I would have to say Sean Michael Ryan. I’m really drawn to artists who stay true to who they are and tell real stories, because that authenticity is what connects the most.

There’s nothing like the energy of a live room. Where can fans catch you on stage next, and for someonee seeing you for the first time, what should they expect from a [Band Name] live experience?”

Fans can catch me on stage this summer at Festival Western St-Quentin, Cavendish Beach Music Festival on the Emerging Stage, Route 960 Festival, and in Antigonish, NS. I’m also planning my EP release show very soon, with more music on the way.

For someone seeing me for the first time, a Colleen Evelyn show is high energy, lots of fiddle, and connection with the crowd. I want people to feel something, have fun, and leave with a good vibe.
