JESSICA SOLE DELIVERS STUNNING NEW SINGLE, “STRANGERS DON’T”

Canadian country star Jessica Sole is fresh off a #1 hit on SiriusXM, she’s back with her haunting new single “Strangers Don’t”—her debut release with New Motor Records. From her roots in Shelburne, Ontario, to the CCMA stages, Jessica is quickly becoming one of the most compelling voices in the scene. We’re sitting down to talk about her new music, her viral growth on TikTok, and the emotional story behind her latest track.

First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Jessica Sole, I’m a country artist and songwriter. I live in a small town with my husband and our 2 black cats. I love to read (good reads goal is 46 books this year), and I just started my cooking journey. I write songs about love, life, and heartbreak that (sometimes) isn’t mine.

Tell us a bit about your recent release.

Strangers Don’t was written about something I went through a few years ago, and writing it was very healing for me. It’s all about those confusing feelings that come out of nowhere when you’re going through a breakup. Just when you think you’re almost all the way healed, something reminds you of that person, and sets you back. The idea sat in my notes app for a while because I wanted the emotions to be a bit more lived in before telling the story.

Walk us through your creative progress when creating music.

Songwriting is such a cool creative outlet, and the process is different every time. I almost always start with lyrics and chase the melody after.

Now that the music is out, what does the ‘road ahead’ look like? Beyond tours and videos, what’s one ‘bucket list’ goal you hope to achieve with this release?

I’m so excited that Strangers Don’t is out! One of my bucket list goals for this one is to be able to perform it everywhere possible in the coming months and especially during festival season!

Every artist has a ‘lightbulb moment’ where things just clicked. Looking back, what’s the one performance or milestone that made you realize, ‘Okay, this is what I was meant to do’?

It was actually a more recent show. I headlined at The Rivoli at the end of 2025, and looking out into a crowd of people having such a fun night, and singing along to my original songs is such a special feeling.

We love championing Canadian talent. If you were curated a ‘Must-Listen’ playlist of emerging artists right now, who is the first person you’d add?

Theres so many amazing artists in Canada, it’s hard to choose just one! It would either be Paige Rutledge, or Delta Sweet, both incredible artists that everyone should get to know.

There’s nothing like the energy of a live room. Where can fans catch you on stage next, and for someone seeing you for the first time, what should they expect from a Jessica Sole live experience?”

One thing you can always expect from a Jessica Sole live experience is I’m going to overshare when I talk about the songs I write. I have a couple songs with very pointed messages haha. You can also always expect my parents to be in the middle of the dance floor at some point during the show, they always have the best time.
