PAIGE RUTLEDGE RELEASES EMOTIONALLY-CHARGED NEW SINGLE “HATE HOW I LOVE YOU”
Rising Canadian country artist Paige Rutledge has released her soul-stirring new single “Hate How I Love You” on October 24, via New Motor Records.
Written by Rutledge alongside Dayna Reid and Jessica Sole, “Hate How I Love You” captures the raw, all-too-familiar emotions that linger in the aftermath of a breakup. The song is a personal one for Rutledge, who says sometimes it just takes a little time to move on.
“This song came from a real place in my life and helped me heal,” says Rutledge. “I hope listeners going through the same thing find that same sense of peace, that everything’s going to be okay.”
Drawing from personal experience, Rutledge found the spark for the song in a quiet late-night moment.
“I wrote down the title in my notes app on my phone and then started writing down how I was feeling. I knew that I had a write coming up with Dayna Reid and Jessica Sole, two amazing women in Canadian country music that also happen to be two of my friends and knew that they would be the perfect people to pitch this idea to. We immediately started running with the idea of the song and drawing from personal life experiences to bring this song to life. “
“Hate How I Love You” marks Rutledge’s second release with New Motor Records, following her summer single “Whatcha Gonna Do,” which has racked up more than 200,000 streams and is playing on SiriusXM Canada’s Top of the Country channel.
Known for her authentic storytelling, sparkling stage presence and powerhouse vocals, Rutledge has quickly become one of the most exciting and buzzed-about emerging voices in Canadian country. Over the past year, she’s earned 2025 CMAO Award nominations for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, performed as part of the CCMA Country Crawl and appeared at major festivals including Big Valley Jamboree, The CNE and 1000 Island Country Fest, among others.
