Bon Boy Returns With Raucous New Single “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man”
Bon Boy, the genre-bending sonic force of nature and alter-ego of multi-instrumentalist Steve Stenholt, drops his latest single “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” — a wild, hook-laden homage to Bob Seger that fuses garage rock grit with punk swagger and an unapologetic love for Coors Light.
“I love Bob Seger. I love the Silver Bullet Band. And I love drinking silver bullets (otherwise known as Coors Light in America),” says Bon Boy. “This cover and video bring all those loves together.”
Born in Wisconsin, bred in Chicago, reborn in New York, and now sunbathing in the desert heat of Arizona, Bon Boy’s journey is as unpredictable as his music. With sound drawing comparisons to Viagra Boys, The Hives, The Replacements, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Bon Boy revels in the messy, beautiful chaos of modern life, chasing joy in a world that feels like it’s spinning off its axis.
Originally demoed in a dusty corner of Tucson, the track found new life in Los Angeles with producer Justin Ripley and was mixed by Mike Novak in Chicago. The result is a rollicking, dry-mixed banger that feels like it stumbled out of a dive bar in 1975 and into your ears today.
The accompanying video — shot guerrilla-style across Los Angeles by director Afshin Hatami — features Bon Boy in full hedonist mode: “No permits. Too much Coors Light. And my body will never recover,” he adds.
“Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” is more than just a cover — it’s a middle finger to perfection, a celebration of joyful excess, and a reminder that when the world’s on fire, it’s okay to party down.
