Grentperez & Rocco

On June 7th, Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter Grentperez brought his Backflips in a Restaurant Tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
Opening the show was Filipino-American singer-songwriter Rocco. He kicked things off with a fun, feel-good set full of upbeat and romantic indie pop tracks. Everyone was very into the music, and he connected with the crowd through playful banter and jokes between songs.

As Grentperez took to the stage, he immediately brought the energy of the crowd to a ten. His silhouette could be seen behind a tinted window, before starting “Nice To Meet You,” a fun, upbeat song that got the crowd off their feet.
The show was rather an immersive experience, with a stage design of a restaurant titled “G’s Bar & Grill,” which brought the songwriter’s first studio album, Backflips in a Restaurant, to life. To go along with the theme, his drummer, Ichi, was dressed as a bartender, and guitarist Timi was dressed as a cook.

The Backflips In a Restaurant Tour was filled with heartwarming crowd moments and a little bit of theatrical flair. Grentperez truly knows how to put on a show and probably left Vancouver fans with post-concert bliss until the next time he comes back to the city.
