Draemus – “P896” (Single Review)

P896 Tells a Story of Loneliness, liberation & self realization

P896 is one of The Humanoid Order’s mining planetoids. The mine is serviced by synthetic humanoids created into slavery by The Humanoid Order.

Sierra X47, now self-proclaimed as Serra has vowed to destroy her overlords and escape the slavery of the mining planetoid. Daily she is subjected to oppression, abuse, rape, and often deadly working conditions as other synthetic humanoids are sacrificed to The Humanoid Order’s mining operations. Serra knows without a doubt that she and the other synthetics are alive and deserve freedom. That they are worthy of a long life of love, feelings, touch, sex, and prosperity. One day during a routine shift Serra is able to sneak unnoticed and sends a transmission of hope into the void of space.

Draemus hears voices in the void, crying out that they are in fact alive and deserve freedom. Receiving Serra’s transmission Draemus arrives on P896 destroying another Humanoid Order stronghold, liberating all synthetic humanoids of P896, and embracing a new special connection with Sierra X47.

Review

P896 is a powerful, eerie track that blends haunting lyrics with a gritty, synth-laden soundscape, diving headfirst into questions of identity, freedom, and what it means to exist. With lines like “Hello, is anybody there?” and “We’re all fighting for our freedom,” the song speaks to the loneliness and desperation of synthetic beings struggling for autonomy—searching for the kind of connection that only humans are supposed to crave.

The repeated refrain, “Feel me, Touch me, Am I real?” is especially moving, capturing a deep longing for validation in a world that treats them as nothing more than tools. Pulsing beats and dark, atmospheric synths amplify this emotion, wrapping the listener in a mood of tension and yearning. It’s a track that doesn’t just explore a dystopian theme but makes you feel the weight of it, resonating with anyone who’s ever questioned what it truly means to be alive.
