TORONTO-BASED BENJA SHARES NEW SINGLE, “BLUE”
Benja recently unveiled “Blue”, a somber lament about the loss of young love. “Blue” showcases a maturity in the Toronto-based guitarist’s songwriting as well as his masterful musicianship. “Blue” is out now on Stay Level Records.
“Blue” is laden with atmospheric tape delay effects, starting off slow and soothing, and climaxing with a blistering saxophone solo courtesy of Ouri. The track also features Benja’s friend and collaborator Jonah Yano on guitar.
The guitarist and up-and-coming producer is operating on a number of magnetic frequencies, releasing a slew of singles over the last few months, including “Bloom” which was featured on CBC’s Top 20 for four weeks, hit over 300K streams on Spotify, and enjoyed a viral TikTok moment amassing 2M+ Plays.
Benja’s dexterity takes many forms: he produced K’Naan’s Grammy Award-winning single “Refugee and backed up Bad Bad Not Good, Jonah Yano, and Jerry (formerly Odd Future’s Hodgy) as well as collaborating with Jonah Yano, Clairo, and K’Naan.
