LASSO MONTREAL 2024
DAY 2: AUGUST 17TH, 2024
WITH SAM HUNT, BRETT YOUNG, KIP MOORE, MATT LANG, JOSH ROSS, ALLI WALKER, MACKENZIE PORTER, THE WAR AND TREATY, ALANA SPRINGSTEEN and DALTON DOVER
LASSO Montreal wrapped up its 2024 edition last night! Recap of a second day full of yeehaws and good vibes.
We stuck around the main stage for most of the day, starting out with Dalton Dover‘s unique voice and Alana Springsteen bubbly energy! Up next, husband-and-wife duo The War and Treaty warmed up the crowd under some light rain, with an impeccable set of soul music radiating with warmth and kindness!
Up next, Mackenzie Porter dazzled the crowd (with her talent, not just her bejewelled guitar and violin!), and over at the Ranch Stage, Alli Walker taught us about a new instrument: the electric bagpipe!
Back at the main stage, the last five artists of the night were all men. While they did make for an incredible party, it would have been nice to see more female representation in the back half of the scheduling. Things started picking up with Josh Ross, who jumped around the stage with great energy. Up next, local country hero Matt Lang brought a crazy country-rock set as we know him to (his MTelus show earlier this year is still top of mind for us). Georgia’s Kip Moore rocked it out, and Brett Young went more the country-pop route, singing songs of love and heartbreak to a frenzied audience.
Finally, Georgia’s professional football player turned country artist Sam Hunt headlined closing night. His set was full of energy (including a little trip in the crowd all the way to the soundboard), and turning Parc Jean Drapeau into one big house party, for the last time this summer!
The 3rd edition of LASSO was another great success, and we can’t wait to see it get even bigger next year! You can already buy your passes now, at the lowest price guaranteed. For more information, visit the festival’s website.
