JoJo Mason shares new single, “Bottom Shelf” + 5Qs ZOOM Interview

Acclaimed award-winning Canadian country artist JoJo Mason has unveiled his compelling new single “Bottom Shelf,” available now via 604 Records / Warner Music Canada and all streaming platforms.

Produced by multiple award-winning songwriter and producer Ryan Stead, “Bottom Shelf” is a pop/soul-infused track that delves into the raw emotions and aftermath of heartbreak following a breakup. The track uses the act of finding solace in bottom-shelf drinks as a poignant metaphor for coping with memories of past love.

“This song means more to me than most. Not only for the lyrics, not for the melodies but for what it represents. This song to me represents my independence, my struggle and my freedom,” said JoJo Mason. “For the first time in my career I finally feel like I am the one calling the shots. I’m the one choosing the direction. I feel the freedom and trust from my 604 Records team, to express myself and also to chase a sound I’ve been wanting to for a long time. I really think we captured it, exactly how we wanted it.”

“Bottom Shelf” gives fans the first taste of his new music direction since his incredible EP Sky Full Of Stars (2021), and follows the release of JoJo’s recent passion project “Toxic”. “Toxic” explores themes of inner turmoil and self-destruction as JoJo narrates the harsh realities of life.

Recently, JoJo launched his “Mental Health Mondays” project on the 604 Podcast Network. Fans can now tune in biweekly to hear JoJo discuss topics of mental health well-being, goal setting, and more.
