Front Line Assembly. Gary Numan. Ministry. Three of the most influential and respected bands in the Industrial music industry hit the Palace Theatre in Calgary Alberta on March 5, 2024.

Front Line Assembly, fronted by ex-Skinny Puppy frontman, Bill Leeb, started the night off performing hits from their back catalogue that showed why they are legends in their own right in the Industrial music world.

Gary Numan, the man who influenced the likes of Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, Fear Factory, Marilyn Manson, and Dave Grohl was up next. The crowd went nuts when the post-apocalyptic dressed pioneer hit the stage with his hard-hitting band. There was not a flaw with this performance that included everything from his biggest hit “Cars” to his newer singles of his stunning concept albums with songs like “My Name Is Ruin” and “A Prayer For the Unborn”. Gary Numan showed no signs of slowing down creating musical masterpieces.

Ministry finished off the night by promoting their newest work of art with songs off HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES with their classics off their older work that are still fan favourites. “Jesus Built My Hotrod” was reintroduced into the playlist since it was last played live in 2019 as well as their cover of “The Light Pours Out Of Me” by Magazine, another song that hasn’t been played since 2003. Fan favourites “Stigmata” and “Thieves” worked the crowd into a frenzy.

Calgary had an exciting night with a strong line up of some of the most influential musicians in Industrial music. If you missed this lineup in Western Canada, you still have a chance to catch them in Eastern Canada as part of their headlining Northern American tour before they provide direct support to the US Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie tour.
