Review

“Ghost Of Mine” is a mesmerizing indie-rock treasure that delves into the emotionally charged tale of facing an upcoming departure. The moving lyrics vividly convey a deep sense of yearning and an urgent plea for connection before the unavoidable separation.

With the refrain echoing the sentiment, “But I’m holding on with or without you,” the song encapsulates the emotional struggle of coming to terms with the departure and recognizing that life continues even in absence.

Philip skillfully intertwines lyrical depth and musical composition, crafting an emotionally charged experience that prompts reflection on the fleeting essence of life and the enduring impact of our cherished connections.

Hi Philip! What have you been up to since we last chatted?

Mainly I’ve been finishing recording my upcoming 5 song EP Distant Memories, coming out in the next few months. As well as writing songs for the following record once this first EP is finished.

You have unveiled your new single, “Ghost Of Mine.” Tell us about the story behind the track.

Ghost Of Mine is a special song, dedicated to a friend who was more like a brother who we lost last year, and about them leaving this world. The song is about their last conversation and trying to get advice from them before they’re gone.

You have also shared a music video to accompany the release. What stands out as the highlight of the creative process during this release?

The highlight of the creative process for the video was essentially the challenge of trying to act out and tell this storyline of losing someone within a 3-minute video. All the while capturing cinematic visuals and beautiful nature shots

Your previous singles, “Know By Now” and “Should’ve Known” are doing well on Spotify, together garnering over 30K streams. How does it feel to reach these milestones?

It feels really exciting to finally get some music into the world and have it be heard. I have so much more to share so it’s motivating as well.

Do you have any upcoming shows to tell us about?

I’ll be playing more in the New Year once this first record is finally released and will be sharing more of that on my media pages ASAP
