MONOWHALES are back with a new single, “Backbone” Ahead of Upcoming Tour Dates
Juno Award-winning, alt-rockers MONOWHALES return with their electric new single “Backbone”. This dynamic song, produced by lead guitarist Zach Zanardo, serves as both anthem and ballsy declaration of one’s ability to withstand the pressure of toxic relationships.
Of ‘Backbone’, vocalist Sally Shaar reveals, the song “embodies the struggle of reclaiming my own power and breaking free from toxic relationships that have long held influence over my life. It’s my rock ‘n’ roll supervillain anthem,”
With a cinematic music video shot and directed by acclaimed director Brittany Farhat of Good Job Hi Five (July Talk: Love Lives Here), “Backbone” the second of the band’s 3 self-produced songs, takes the band back to their hard-rock roots. Its visuals are a literal representation of the raw emotion portrayed throughout the song’s lyrics.
This new release comes just as the band prepares to head out on their massive North American tour that will see the Juno award-winning group bringing their captivating live show to 27 markets across the US and Canada this fall. The American leg of the tour begins October 16th in Chicago Illinois, with Canadian dates commencing on November 16th in Victoria, BC.
