Led by Romani-Canadian musician, Candace Lacina and world-renowned Keyboardist Mike Little, The Hello Darlins are some of Canada’s most in-demand session musicians who came together to forge a distinct hybrid of country, gospel, and blues.

The band released their latest EP, In The Sundust back in March, featuring the hit, “Better Days,” which has garnered over 220K streams on Spotify.

The Hello Darlins are set to play Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Canso, Nova Scotia on Saturday, July 22 on the Main Stage.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

The Hello Darlins are a collective of professional session and touring musicians! We play “Americana/ Canadiana Music” – which is a hybrid of country, gospel, and blues. Big harmonies, and lots of hammond solos. Ha!

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

The new single  – “Don’t You Fall,” is out July 28th! It’s an upbeat, lighthearted track that with a message to persevere through hard times by enjoying the wonder of life, and the love and support of those closest to us. 

You’re playing Stan Rogers Folk Festival this year. Is this your first time playing the festival? If so, have you ever attended?

This will be our first time attending Stanfest, and performing!

With a stellar, hugely-Canadian lineup, who are you excited to check out at the festival?

SO many!! Dave Gunning, Carolyn Dawn and – we might have a few surprise guests joining us as well! We are playing 6 shows over two days!

For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 3 words.

Energetic, Joyful and Heartfelt.

On Saturday, July 22, there will also be a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, so I have to ask, what is your favourite Gordon Lightfoot song?

Do you have any other upcoming shows or festivals to tell us about?

We playing Salmon Arm Roots and Blues in Augustm which will be so much fun – and we’re excited to return to Eastern Canada at the end of September to play the HALIFAX URBAN  FOLK FESTIVAL! Atlantic Canada has been so welcoming to us as a band, and it feels like coming home.
