Toronto Musician Alex Southey Releases Indie Rock Single “Never Listen”

Toronto, ON-based artist Alex Southey has unveiled a new single, “Never Listen.” This release is the first since he unveiled his Common Fantasies EP, back in December 2022.

Alex shares,

“I really just put forth different, relevant examples of large groups of people sticking their heads in the sand for convenience and sport (in these cases): Ignoring CTE issues in sports, politicians and climate change, the music industry. I understand all of that is a little heavy handed and dour, which is why we (Oh Canada Creative and I) made the video a bit like an antidote, with humour. The perfect opportunity to do something offbeat came via my guitar breaking at a show (Junction Underground) two days before we were set to shoot. It’s absurd. So is Vogue-ing holding succulents but there I was. Vogue-ing. Remains to be seen about repairing the guitar. Oh Canada Creative were fantastic to work with.”
