Christian Turner shares the debut single, “Nobody But You”
Toronto-based indie rock act Christian Turner (Teenage Kicks) on vocals and guitar, Jeff Takahashi on bass, Gavin McCleod and Mitchell Dunn on guitars, and Konrad Commisso on the drums.
The new year brings their debut single, in which they create a dark dreamy atmosphere with sludgy, stoner rock melodies. “Nobody But You” explores the ups and downs of an abstract love, feeling helpless to its irresistible pull.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Christian Turner, but my friends call me CT
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
On January 12, we released our debut track, “Nobody But You.” It’s dark and heavy with a nice lullaby melody.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
Usually, I just write and write, and when I get a line, I try to extract the rest of the lyrics from that. I love old-timey American Song Book-type melodies. They have this concise quality in both the changes and the lyrics that, in my opinion, can’t be beaten. Credit where credit is due, good music, and hard times inspire me the most to write. Another more simple answer would be from Satan himself.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
Feb 3 at the Casbah in Hamilton supporting Mister Rabbit and Big School. Our second show as a band, and I urge you to kindly be there or be square.
What’s your goal for 2023?
2023 is big. We have 4 songs (3 more) coming out over the next few months and some great shows with great bands around those releases. What I’m most excited about is recording the new stuff with my main man Matt Snell at Genesis studio. That stuff will be out in the summertime. Doing things a little differently this time. Instead of it being just me, Konrad Commisso, and Matt Snell, we will be working with other people to produce the tunes. Talented people I very much respect.
