I go by the stage name Amarii and I’m a 20-year-old artist from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
My most recent release, “Already There,” is super special to me because it’s about a past fling I had with a girl. We ended things together, but she wouldn’t leave me alone. She would text me constantly and show up at places where I was, I felt like I couldn’t escape.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
I often get inspiration from things I’ve been through in my life or am currently going through, I also get inspiration from my environment around me, whether it’s something that a friend is going through or some moving lyrics from a song I can relate too, inspiration can be found wherever you look in my opinion.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
I have a performance booked for February 9th in Downtown Vancouver, but I’m sure there will be one before and many after.
What’s your goal for 2023?
My goal for 2023 is to keep enjoying the process and help forward my career everyday, I wanna be a really big artist and that comes with time and working smart and on top of that I wanna stay positive, 2023 is gonna be a special year.
