ALYA Revisits Childhood Dreams of Romance on Her Latest Single

As a little girl, ALYA spent countless nights dreaming of a love she wasn’t sure she’d ever find. Now, the Grammy-winning, Los Angeles-based pop singer has transformed those childhood fantasies into “Dreaming,” a sun-kissed new single that captures the magic of romance, hope, and believing in the impossible.

The track serves as a prequel to her recent single, “Believer,” with both songs forming part of her forthcoming album, In The Moment, expected in spring 2027.

Blending soulful melodies, breezy instrumentation, and cinematic storytelling, “Dreaming” offers listeners an intimate glimpse into ALYA’s personal journey toward finding love.

ALYA Dreaming: A Love Story That Began in Childhood

At the heart of “Dreaming” is a deeply personal story.

ALYA’s upcoming album, In The Moment, unfolds as an interconnected musical autobiography, tracing her experiences with love and the moments that shaped her understanding of romance.

“I was always a dreamer of romance, although it wasn’t nourished or encouraged in my culture,” she explains. “I spent many nights fantasizing about the handholding, eye-gazing, laughing-with-each-other kind of love, but I never thought it would be possible.”

That sense of longing and wonder carries throughout the song, capturing the excitement of a first crush and the possibility of finding the connection you’ve always imagined.

For ALYA, writing the track felt natural because its inspiration came directly from her own experiences.

“This song, and the forthcoming album lyrically, all came so effortlessly in terms of writing, because most of it came from the diary of my mind,” she shares.

ALYA Creates the Groove Behind “Dreaming”

Beyond its heartfelt lyrics, “Dreaming” also highlights ALYA’s creativity as a musician.

Experimenting with different instruments in her home studio, she developed the song’s original groove before sharing the recording with producer Tim Carmon.

“He was completely blown away and kept saying, ‘You did this?’” she recalls. “Which was a great stamp of approval that this song was headed somewhere special for me.”

Carmon produced the track and contributed keyboards, while co-producer Yeezo, who co-wrote the chorus with ALYA, added layered backing vocals.

The recording also features an impressive lineup of musicians, including bassist Courtney Leonard, who has worked with Beyoncé, guitarist Errol Cooney, known for his work with Stevie Wonder, and Mateo Laboriel on drums and guitar.

The result is a warm, breezy sound that feels like a carefree Sunday afternoon drive along the coast.

The track was mixed by Dexter Simmons, mastered by Dave Collins, and features additional lyrical contributions from Kim Rutherford.

ALYA Prepares for New Album In The Moment in 2027

Known for her powerful vocals and emotionally driven songwriting, ALYA continues to build a musical catalogue that blends inspirational pop, soul, and contemporary cinematic sounds.

Her work has generated more than 50 million views across social platforms, while her career has included collaborations with artists such as Eric Clapton, Erica Campbell, and D Smoke.

Beyond her romantic storytelling, ALYA has also used music to share messages of kindness and connection through her ongoing Hope project, including Hope: The Sequel.

With In The Moment arriving in spring 2027, “Dreaming” introduces another chapter in her evolving musical autobiography.

Where “Believer” explores another part of her journey, “Dreaming” returns to the innocence of childhood and the dreams that eventually helped shape her future.

Ultimately, the single serves as a reminder that the hopes we carry from childhood can remain with us long into adulthood, and that sometimes the love we once imagined may become reality.
