Congratulations on the release of “Out of Control!” What inspired the song, and what story were you hoping to tell?
Thank you! This song is supposed to be a feel good summer jam people could roll down their windows and have a blast singing along too! When I initially started writing, I didn’t picture it coming out quite as “sexual” but it’s all part of the writing process and I love how it turned out!
Is there a lyric in “Out of Control” that you’re especially proud of or that holds a deeper meaning for you?
The line that hold the deepest meaning for me in this song is “The love you give is so good for my soul” because it really shows how much someone’s unconditional love can effect a person, and thats what this song is all about! How finding the right person can bring out so many different sides of you that you didn’t know you had.
How would you describe the sound of this single compared to your previous releases? Do you feel it represents a new chapter in your artistry?
Compared to my other singles, I think this song brings a completely different energy! More dance and pop radio than ever! It’s just meant to be a feel good song, and I think thats what we’ve done!
Can you tell us about the recording process? Were there any memorable moments in the studio?
Recording this song was a bit different for me, I recorded vocals with Tal Vaisman in Toronto, and then sent them to a new producer to me Gabe Galluci in Vancouver! They make such a great team and I feel the two of them put such magic into this song that my music has never had before!
If listeners could take away just one message or feeling after hearing “Out of Control,” what would you hope it is?
After listening to this song I hope they feel pure joy and fun! I picture people listening and jamming to this song down the highway with their windows rolled down! I want peoples moods to be lifted because this song is such a blast!
What can fans expect from you after the release of “Out of Control”? Is there more new music or live performances on the horizon?
BOTH! I have already started to work on my next single which I am super stoked about! I also am performing a “residency” spot at a Radius in Burlington throughout July and will be performing at the Winona Peach Festival at the end of August!
If you could instantly collaborate with any artist—living or dead—who would it be and why?
I can’t just pick one answer…it is a tie between Dua Lipa and The Weeknd! I just love the vibe of their music, the lyrics, the musicality! I could listen to them over and over and not get bored!
What’s one item you always have with you when you’re heading to the studio?
Heading to the studio my staple is drinking hot water! I am not a tea person, but it is really good for your voice, so I found drinking hot water has the same effect because it soothes the throat and your body absorbs it faster!
What’s the last song you had on repeat?
Currently I am jamming out to “Hate that I made you love me-Ariana Grande” because I really enjoy singing it, and I love how her voice sounds on the track as well.

“Right now, I’m completely obsessed with Real Housewives” which is so corny!! But I fall asleep to it every night, and it’s like a comfort show.
