Traditional country roots shine on Daniel Goguen’s infectious new summer single.
Daniel Goguen has spent years building a respected career rooted in traditional country music. Hailing from the seaside community of Cocagne, New Brunswick, he first picked up a guitar at 15 before beginning to write songs of his own just two years later. Since then, he has released six French-language studio albums, earned multiple industry awards and nominations, and become one of Acadian country music’s most recognizable voices.
His latest release, “Made For Me,” continues that tradition while adding an irresistible summertime energy. Penned by acclaimed Nashville songwriter Kenny Lamb, the song delivers an upbeat, feel-good atmosphere filled with catchy melodies and timeless country instrumentation. It’s the kind of track that feels equally at home on a summer road trip, around a backyard barbecue, or with the windows down on a country highway.
Whether performing on theatre stages, casino venues, or continuing work on new English-language material, Daniel Goguen continues to bring sincerity, passion, and timeless country authenticity to every performance—and “Made For Me” is another welcome addition to his growing catalogue.
First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Daniel Goguen, I’m a Country music artist from New Brunswick.
Tell us a bit about your recent release.
Song title is MADE FOR ME. It was written and composed by Kenny Lamb. It’s a catchy summertime feel good type of song.
Walk us through your creative progress when creating music.
I’ve been writing songs since I was a teenager. An idea will pop in my head with a few lyrics. I’ll get my phone right away to sing or hum the melody and record it to make sure I don’t forget it. However, I didn’t write this latest single.
Now that the music is out, what does the ‘road ahead’ look like? Beyond tours and videos, what’s one ‘bucket list’ goal you hope to achieve with this release?
There’s a lot of great songs out there. I’m just happy to have my new song included in the mix. But as far as a ¨Bucket List¨ goal …I think I have the same dream as most of the Country singers… one day, to be able to sing on the Grand Ole Opry…but that one is close to impossible to reach hahaha.
Every artist has a ‘lightbulb moment’ where things just clicked. Looking back, what’s the one performance or milestone that made you realize, ‘Okay, this is what I was meant to do’?
I’d have to say it would’ve been way back in high School, when I started singing in talent shows, and weekend parties, that’s where I went from a quiet kid in school, to having the entire school know who I am.
We love championing Canadian talent. If you were curated a ‘Must-Listen’ playlist of emerging artists right now, who is the first person you’d add?
I’d go with my fellow New Brunswickers… The Martin Boys
There’s nothing like the energy of a live room. Where can fans catch you on stage next, and for someone seeing you for the first time, what should they expect from a [Band Name] live experience?”
Well actually… Since 2024 I’ve been part of an amazing tribute show called: The Country Boys Tribute Show. It’s a tribute to Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley and George Strait. I’m the one honouring Alan Jackson. The show has grown so fast in popularity that it’s the only touring show I am doing these days.
