Angine de Poitrine & Le Parc
June 26, 2026
Base31, Picton, ON

A duo from Saguenay, Quebec is taking over the world. Angine de Poitrine stopped by Base 31 in Picton, Ontario – a show that sold out in 3 minutes – as part of their Canadian run.

Opening the evening was Le Parc, a high energy Indie-Rock band, also from Saguenay. With electro funk riffs including Qu’est-ce que je ferais avec $5?  and Cache-Cache the night was a cacophony of instrumental tunes that that got everyone moving.

In between sets several large inflatable dice bounced through the audience, filled with polka-dot clad fans excited to see Klek and Khn de Poitrine take over with their light up masks and unique brand of experimental math-rock.

Angine de Poitrine is committed to anonymity,  not only performing in their elaborate costumes but also attending all interviews in their masked polka dot attire. Angine de Poitrine complete entire interviews responding only in their made up alien language. Fans are equally committed, attending shows in polka dots and responding in triangle symbols – Picton’s performance was no exception.

Angine de Poitrine’s name translates to chest pains, perhaps a nod to their intense offbeat sound. The band got their origin in their home town of Saguenay, devising their costumes after being booked into the same venue twice in one week as they were worried no one would come to see them a second time. This is something they no longer need to worry about –  Angine de Poitrine has blown up globally after a video of their performance was posted online by Indie Rock station KEXP, garnering millions of views. An endorsement from Dave Grohl on the Logan Sounds Off podcast didn’t hurt their rising fame any either.

The sold-out June 26th performance in Prince Edward County featuring hits including Fabienk and Tamebsz, in addition to a collection of funky instrumentals from their albums Vol.1 and Vol.II, and did not disappoint.  It is worth checking this band out if only for the spectacle of their shows. Currently the duo is in the throes of an Eastern Ontario tour with a hometown performance in Saguenay on the books for July 2. They head across Canada following their Quebec run with sold out shows in Toronto in mid-July. In late July, Angine de Poitrine heads south including stops in Colorado and California before heading overseas in late August.  Get your tickets fast because these shows are bound to sell out!
