The long awaited return of Matchbox Twenty to the Churchill Park Music Festival is here.
Matchbox Twenty was one of the first headlines of this festival five years ago. Ever since, we’ve seen fans ask for an encore. To celebrate the fifth festival, the pleas have been answered. On Saturday, July 25th there will certainly be a party in the park.
Matchbox Twenty have had an impressive career so far. Most people know at least one of their hits from the 90’s/00’s. This summer marks 30 years since the release of their diamond-certified, 12x platinum albums Yourself or Someone Like You in 1996. We are sure to hear some of the hits from this album that are still in rotation during live shows. Songs like ‘Push’ , ‘Real World’ and ‘3AM’ are sing-along anthems that will surely bring the energy to the park.
Accompanying Matchbox Twenty for a night of incredible music are Timber and Phillip Phillps.
Local musicians, Timber, are set to kick off the night with some incredible music. These folks are not new to the park either. Staying true to the encores, Timber rocked the park on the same night asMatchbox Twenty in 2022.
New to the park this year is Phillip Phillips. Phillips rose to fame after winning season eleven of American Idol in 2012. Since then, he has made an impressive career for himself, boasting his first track, ‘Home’, becoming the best-selling coronation song in American Idol history. Phillips went on to release such hits as ‘Gone, Gone, Gone’ and ‘Raging Fire’. We are sure to hear these tracks, along with some of his newer hits like ‘Homesick’ in the park.
