“What if the road was a woman?” Julia Mae Stone turns wanderlust into something hauntingly human on her newest single, “Road.”

With Road, Québec, Canada-based artist Julia Mae Stone offers more than just a song — she gives a voice to the road itself. In this new track blending americana and country rock influences, the road becomes a presence — a woman — calling, pulling, and refusing to be forgotten.

Inspired by the raw landscapes of the Badlands in Saskatchewan, Road was born from a feeling that’s hard to explain, yet deeply real: the sense of being called somewhere else.

“I know it might sound cliché, but the road really does speak to me. There are places that mark you so deeply you feel the need to go back, without fully knowing why,” says the artist.

Driven by a bluesy, organic instrumentation, the song explores the tension between attachment and freedom — between staying and leaving, between building something… or walking away to follow an invisible pull.

This release marks an important step in Julia Mae Stone’s journey, as Road is the final single before the release of her upcoming album later this year. With this track, she further defines an artistic identity rooted in freedom, movement, and self-assertion.
