Shawn Mendes Sets Montreal Ablaze With Heart, Fireworks, and a Whole Lotta Love
Bell Centre, October 1st, 2025
Last night, Montreal’s Bell Centre pulsed with energy as Shawn Mendes delivered a performance that was equal parts electrifying and emotional—kicking off his 2025 On The Road Again tour with a show that fans won’t forget anytime soon.

But before Shawn even hit the stage, Australian rising star Eddie Benjamin set the tone with a soulful, stripped-back set that was all vibe. Performing with his guitar—eyes closed, lost in the moment—Eddie transported the crowd with tracks like his hit Weatherman and with his pop pedigree he’s worked with none other than Justin Bieber on the SWAG album. Definitely a name to remember.

Then, as the lights dimmed and the crowd screamed with anticipation, the opening chords of There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back hit—and just like that, the place exploded. An absolute fan-favorite (and ours too), the song got everyone on their feet instantly, and from that moment on, it was clear we were in for something special.

Shawn Mendes’ voice? Piercing. Soulful. Absolutely magnetic. He didn’t just sing—he poured emotion into every syllable. And the charisma? Oozing. Like, mop-the-stage levels. Whether he was spinning through the lights or locking eyes with fans, everyone in the building was hanging on every note, every word.

And yes—he’s a flirt. A charming one at that. Multiple times throughout the night, he came down to the barrier, taking hands, hugging fans, and even sharing a few teary-eyed moments that had the whole front row (and maybe us too?) melting.
At one point, Shawn paused and took in the crowd, smiling as he said, “You guys are just… so kind. I have the kindest fans in the world.” And honestly, you could feel it—the crowd was pure love, pure energy, pure Montreal magic.

Highlights of the night? Mercy was hauntingly beautiful—raw, vulnerable, and somehow more powerful live than we thought possible. And Señorita brought the sizzle, with the whole arena turning into a giant dance party.
Before launching into Youth, Shawn got serious. “It’s a dark time in the world,” he said quietly. “Sometimes it feels like I can’t breathe. But you… you are my medicine. I believe in this generation.” The moment was intimate, honest, and hit deep for everyone listening.

The night built to a stunning finale. It’ll Be Okay was accompanied by a shimmering curtain of fireworks, and just when we thought it was over, he hit us with the one-two punch of Why Why Why and In My Blood—the latter closing the show with an all-out confetti explosion that had fans screaming, crying, and living their best lives.

Shawn Mendes in Montreal wasn’t just a concert—it was a shared emotional release, a celebration of connection, kindness, and the healing power of music. From first chord to final burst of confetti, it was magic.
