Ryan Langdon Brings The Party With Throwback Country Jam “My Best Dance Moves”
Award-nominated Canadian country artist Ryan Langdon is back with his high-octane new single, “My Best Dance Moves.”
With over 16 million career streams, four Top 40 Canadian country radio hits, and international recognition in Australia, Langdon has established himself as one of country music’s most exciting new voices. He’s now turning up the volume with a track that celebrates the pure joy of country music’s golden era.
Produced by Marty Martino (Down With Webster, Theo Tams) and co-written with award-winning artist Chad Brownlee, “My Best Dance Moves” is a playful, fired-up country track that brings the party straight to the dance floor; the official music video that lands the day of release compliments the track perfectly.
“This song is a feel-good anthem inspired by the golden era of ’90s country, when the music was all about having a damn good time,” says Langdon. “It’s a song about needing your favourite tune and a little liquid courage to walk up to that special someone at the bar, hit the dance floor, and finally show off the moves you’d usually keep tucked away.”
Known for rowdy crowd-pleasers like “Crushin’ Cans” and “Lit In The Sticks” alongside heartfelt tracks such as “Country Like You,” Langdon continues to strike a balance between high-energy fun and personal storytelling. “Feel Like Home,” his duet with Karli June, climbed to #12 on the Australian Country Radio Charts and won the coveted emerging artist programs from iHeartRadio, Rogers Media, and Stingray. A 2024 Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAO) Award nominee, Langdon has worked alongside some of the industry’s top talent, including Dave “Dwave” Thompson (Lady A, Lights), Patricia Conroy (Meghan Patrick, Rivertown Saints), Jesse Slack (Josh Setterfield, Robyn Ottolini), and Steve Molella (Finger Eleven, New Friends).
First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Ryan Langdon, a country artist from Niagara Falls, Ontario. My music leans into the energy of country-rock but still stays true to the roots of the genre I grew up on. At the end of the day, I just want to make songs that people can raise a glass to, dance to, and hopefully see themselves in.
“My Best Dance Moves” is such a fun, fired-up track — what was the inspiration behind it, and how did it all come together?
This song was really about capturing that feeling when you’re out on the dance floor and just letting loose even if you don’t have the slickest moves. It’s about confidence, having fun, and not taking yourself too seriously. The idea came pretty naturally in the writing room, and once the groove locked in, we knew it had to be a party anthem.
You’ve said this song is a nod to the golden era of ’90s country. What was it about that era that you wanted to capture and celebrate in this track?
The ’90s had this incredible mix of energy, hooks, and storytelling. It was bold and fun, but it still felt authentic. That’s what I wanted to tap into with “My Best Dance Moves,” something that makes people smile, sing along, and maybe even two-step a little.
Who is your absolute favourite ‘90s country artist?
That’s a tough one, but I’d have to go with Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins. Alan’s songs really captured that classic country storytelling that I grew up on, and Trace brought such a cool edge with his deep voice and energy. They were both huge influences on me and the kind of country music I love making today.
The music video dropped the same day as the single — how does it complement the energy of the song?
The video is all about bringing that party atmosphere to life. We leaned into the fun side of the track, with a lot of movement, energy, and just good vibes all around. It’s the kind of video that makes you want to get up and dance along.
You co-wrote this track with Chad Brownlee and had Marty Martino on production. What did each of them bring to the table in shaping the song?
Chad is such a great songwriter he really helped bring the idea to life and shape it into something that feels universal but still has my voice. Marty’s production took it to another level. He brought this modern edge to the ’90s inspiration, making it sound fresh but still nostalgic.
You’re currently working on your next EP — can fans expect more of this high-energy, ’90s-country-inspired sound, or something new altogether?
There’s definitely going to be more of that high energy, throwback feel because it’s such a big part of who I am as an artist. But I also want to show some different sides a little more grit, some heartfelt moments, and a few surprises. The goal is to make an EP that feels like a full ride, but at the core, it’ll always come back to that mix of fun and authenticity.
