Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, Vancouver, BC
On May 15th, Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK brought the opening night of their DETOX North American Tour 2025 to Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre in Vancouver. The band are touring worldwide in their newest album DEXOX, released earlier in February this year.
Opening the show was the Australian pop punk band Stand Atlantic. They brought an energetic performance by getting the crowd on their feet early, moshing, and headbanging.

The band played a lot of their new material off WAS HERE, premiering the song “ROCKSTAR” for the first time, and lead singer Bonnie Fraser made a personal connection to the song “LOVE YOU ANYWAYS.”
They also didn’t leave out fan favourites like “Coffee at Midnight” and “Hate Me (Sometimes)” returning to Vancouver after three years, ONE OK ROCK brought an unforgettable performance with lead singer Taka’s impressive vocal range and the band’s dynamic stage presence.
The four-piece premiered many new songs for the first time off DETOX, including “Dystopia”, “Puppets Can’t Control You”, “The Pilot </3”, “Delusion:All”, “+Matter” “Tropical Therapy”, “Tiny Pieces”, and “C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y.”
Playing the Harbour Event Centre back in 2022 and now to 2025, playing the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, it seems the band keeps growing every year on a global scale. The band has transformed the Japanese music scene and the rock scene as a whole.
