Let’s dive into Carson’s journey and what’s next for this rising star!

First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey! My name is Carson Janik, and I am a Canadian Country artist from Windsor, Ontario. I have been singing ever since I could talk, and have been doing music full-time ever since I graduated high school.

Tell us a bit about your recent release.

My new single to Canadian radio “Easy for You to Say” is a song based on a past lover who got up and left with no regard for the emotional aspect of the relationship… one of those things where you look back and say “You broke my heart like it was easy for you to break.” I’ve always had a soft spot for sad, introspective songs and I am so grateful to have this song out in the world.

How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?

I really go with the flow, and let the music take over. I typically get a chord structure/strum pattern down and build the story around the music. That has always helped me decide on the theme and tone of the words I am saying. More recently though, I have been letting the melodies take over and paint the picture.

Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?

I am excited to say that I am doing my first cross-province tour this summer! From Saskatchewan to New Brunswick, and everywhere in between. I was super honoured to play at the CCMA’s for their Country Crawl event in Edmonton, AB which was the first out-of-province show I have done, and since then I have been waiting for the opportunity to hit the road with the band.

Looking back on your musical career, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?

Getting to share the stage with REDFERRIN was a big turning point in my career and a show I will never forget. Being such a fan of his music beforehand and then getting to perform for the same crowd was such a surreal moment.

Last but not least, it’s time to pay it forward, what upcoming band or artist would you recommend your fans check out?

Owen Riegling is a name Canadians need to know if they haven’t heard of it already. His music reminds me of a mixture of Eric Church and Brett Kissel.
