Vancouver artist Dylan Perkons shares new single and video “Edge of the World (Feat. Sian Alcorn)”

Originally from Santa Maria, California, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Perkons returns with the serene and contemplative indie-folk single “Edge of the World (Feat. Sian Alcorn)”. The track is set for release on March 5, 2025, complete with a music video filmed on 16mm.

Perkons recorded the bulk of “Edge of the World” with producer Jonas Bonnetta (aka Evening Hymns) at his secluded studio Port William Sound, located two hours from Ottawa, Canada. He then recorded vocals and piano at his home studio in Vancouver, with the addition Sian Alcorn’s enchanting vocals.

Perkons found inspiration for the song while participating in an online songwriting course, pulling him out of a songwriting dry spell.

Perkons shares the meaning behind the track:

“I wrote “Edge of the World” pretty much all in one sitting. That rarely happens to me, but when it does, it always feels like something really special is happening. When I started writing this song, I was thinking about one particular day I spent swimming in a lake with someone I love very much. Relationships are made up of so many moments, seconds, hours, and days, but there are always some that really stay with me and feel almost magical in my memory.

What had started as a song about being afraid to jump off a cliff into a lake turned into a reflection on forgiveness and letting go of regret, about choosing to make mistakes and grow from them and choosing to heal. But also recognizing that healing can take a lifetime – “Cause the heart it moves at a glacial pace, but I swear I’m getting better every day.”

“Edge of the World” features Perkons on vocals, guitar, electronics, and piano, Michal C Duguay on accordion, Jonas Bonnetta on mellotro, and Sian Alcorn on featured vocals.

Quote From Editor:
