Tonight, Ohio futuristic rock band Starset played Montreal’s MTelus! It had been a minute since we saw them in town, with their last visit dating to 2022, at the Corona Theater.

With Immersion: The Final Chapter, Starset put together a tour production like none other. Just like their last “demonstration” (what they call their shows) tour two years ago, we got embarked into an alternate world from the first moments of the intro, with screens playing short movies between songs, explaining it all. They also had a revolutionary set of LCD fans to the front of the stage, for more projections that made the experience truly immersive for the audience.

First appearing in the back of the stage with a helmet on, frontman Dustin Bates quickly captured the attention of the crowd, and kept it throughout the evening as he bounced around the stage with energy and gravitas.

The 2 hours and 15 minutes set felt transformative, taking the audience on a post-apocalyptic journey of rebellion. The crowed was left in awe, floating on a little dystopian cloud as they left the venue!
