To convey the majesty of a Pink concert is no easy feat. The aptly named “Summer Carnival” tour, was a grand event – a massive stage full of color, props, and excitement.

Before we get to that, let’s start with the openers – The Script. Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, the band’s been around for a while – you may remember their 2008 hit “Breakeven”, the breakup song with some pretty unforgettable lines. They put on a great show, amping up the early crowd. Vocalist Danny O’Donoghue spent the majority of the set engaging the crowd, moving back-and-forth across the massive stage, fully immersed in every word he sang. A delightful set, and a fantastic start to the evening.

Up Next was veteran rocker Sheryl Crow, no stranger to big stages since her rise to fame 30 years ago in 1994. Her set list was packed full of hits including “if it makes you happy”, “the first cut is the deepest”, “all I wanna do”, and a cover of the Cheap Trick smash hit “I want you to want me”. She is no slouch on the stage, belting out 11 songs over the course of her time.

To describe Pink‘s set is not only a challenge, but feels like no matter what you say is an understatement. I have seen hundreds of concerts in my life, and literally nothing has touched the energy, professionalism, theatrics, and pure unadulterated fun that Pink brought to the stage.

A 20-song set, split into four acts That were chock full of acrobatics, trampoline work, dancers riding around on giant flamingo segways, to a finale that included Pink literally flying around the massive stadium, doing flips and rolls, touching down on several podiums placed throughout the floor. it was incredible. I have never seen anything like it in my entire life. She took the 60,000-strong audience through all kinds of different emotions, even sharing anecdotes of her late father who died in 2021.

Although she is not part of my regular music listening choices, her performance was stacked full of songs that I was very familiar with. Being able to enjoy the show from the floor was a very special treat, and it was great to be surrounded by people who were so passionate about her music and her message.
