Last night, Cage the Elephant and their Neon Pill Tour stopped by Montreal’s Bell Center, for the band’s first visit in town in 7 years!
California’s Young the Giant opened the evening, with a set just like we know and love from them. The energy and emotion was high, and with front singer Sameer Gadhia reaching new heights, jumping higher and higher on stage! The magic was there, and so were the fans, bringing the energy of last year’s Place Bell headline show to the Bell Center.
Up next, Cage the Elephant arrived onstage and set it on fire to the sounds of Broken Boy. Frontman Matt Shultz took a bad fall at a show a couple weeks ago and broke his foot. A lot of performers would’ve cancelled shows after this but no, he showed up with his foot in a boot on a little knee scooter, and kept the tour going! He also kept his antics going, with a set overflowing with energy as he rolled and shouted around the stage. The 22-track setlist was packed with rock and roll, with highlights on major hits Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked and Cigarettes and Daydreams. The show ended with uplifting Come a little closer, which sent everyone home floating on a cloud after a true rocking evening!
