Let’s get started with the introduction of the Toronto-based band, Redpath Traffic. Recently on the 13th, they release their latest single, “Dundas Square.” A track that’s vibrant odd to the iconic downtown area, captures the essence, both its highs and lows in this irresistible rock anthem. You can find it now across all your favourite streaming platforms, plus you can check out the article highlighting this Toronto-inspired track. The link to the article is here.

My fourth recommendation of the week, Canadian singer/songwriter Kelly Jamieson has now dropped a video for the title track. You can find the album across all your favourite streaming platforms and the video in our article. But since moving to Toronto in 2021 with his family, He has fully dedicated himself to honing his craft and making waves in the Americana genre. Coming right up after that amazing recommendation, it’s the acclaimed Montréal-based folk-pop musician, Geneviève Racette. Her latest release came out on the 16th, it’s a thought-provoking track called “Instagram”. You can listen to it now across all your favourite streaming platforms and it’s coming off of her forthcoming Golden, coming out this fall. But the new single reflects the feelings of self-doubt that arise as we compare our lives to the seemingly perfect, filtered realities shared by others online. Two
This week’s second top recommendation of the week will be, Toronto-based pop/folk indie artist Sherry Jacoby. Her new single, “Puzzle”, explores the heartbreak that happens when you discover that love isn’t enough. Available now across all streaming, Inspired by a past relationship where the writing was on the wall. Having that hard time letting go of somebody that you know is not a good fit in your puzzle. You can check out more about this incredible song in our article right here. for this week’s runner-up for the top spot on my list. Please give it up for “Puzzle” by Sherry Jacoby!!
BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport
Now we have reached our bonus recommendation, an artist that comes from around the world to your screens. This particular article was featured in our Canadian Beats Passport section and I’d like to introduce you to our bonus recommendation. It’s indie groove songstress Darling Nikki, hailing from Germany. She is here with a quintessential soundtrack for the exact feeling of desiring a lost era. Musicians have always tried to take a nostalgic theme in their music, to pay homage to the stuff that they grew up listening to on the radio. This new single will take listeners back to a time when the 70s soul thrived. The new single is called “Elvis” and was written, recorded, and produced by Nikki herself. Check out our article that features the video for “Elvis” here.
One
This is gonna be my last hand-picked and top recommendation of the week. Coming to us this time is going to be Toronto songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Abigail Lapell. Sharing two incredible singles, “Serpent à sonnette” and the French version of her infectious singalong “Rattlesnake”. That comes from her latest LP, Anniversary, which is available now across all streaming platforms. But these two singles are stripped down, acoustic renditions that feature enchanting and celebrate love. Enjoy both of these songs within our article right here.
