Sherry Jacoby shares new single, “Puzzle”

Sherry Jacoby Searches for Missing Piece in “Puzzle”

Toronto-based pop/folk indie artist Sherry Jacoby’s new single, “Puzzle”, explores the heartbreak that happens when you discover that love isn’t enough. Inspired by a past relationship where the writing was on the wall, Jacoby wrote “Puzzle” to express the difficulty of letting go even when you know that someone isn’t a good fit for you.

Sherry wrote “Puzzle” with the hope that listeners with similar experiences will feel less alone.

“I think in many instances in my life, I ignored my intuition that something wasn’t right for me, and it took me a long time to let it go,” she shares. “This song is a reminder to listen to your gut when you know something isn’t for you.”

With heartfelt lyrics and catchy indie-pop hooks, Sherry combines the influences of Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and Gabrielle Alpin. While recording “Puzzle”, Sherry was excited to continue her collaboration with Nashville producer Shannon McArthur. Shannon has produced acts including Dashboard Confessional and Adam Durtiz (Counting Crows) and his songs have been featured on shows including ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy”.

“I am grateful for the indie-pop edge that Shannon added to the song,” reflects Sherry. “He added new energy to the song by sampling my voice and adding a driving beat. It was exactly what the song needed.”

Sherry is excited to share “Puzzle” with the world and dive into more performances in the Toronto area. This year is looking bright as she continues to collaborate with Shannon on recording more of her original songs. Follow her on Instagram & TikTok to stay up to date on her upcoming releases.
