APPEARANCES THIS SUMMER AT TORONTO’S LAVENDER WILD AND QUEBEC’S FESTIVAL FONO
Rising pop artist Ari Hicks returns with her captivating new single “Innocent.” Pulsating with heavy synths throughout, “Innocent” is a poignant exploration of self-realization and empowerment that instantly pulls listeners in. This summer Ari is set to bring her energetic live performance to Toronto’s Lavender Wild Festival on August 24, followed by Festival Fono in Quebec City on September 13-14th.
On “Innocent,” Ari delivers an introspective narrative, inviting listeners in on an emotional journey. Commenting on “Innocent,” she says,
“This is the start of the end – the moment when you begin to realize that you shouldn’t put all the blame on yourself and finally come to the actualization that the other person in this relationship may not be so innocent. That pedestal you put them on shouldn’t be that high – in fact it might not exist at all. “
Despite its dark undertones, “Innocent” showcases Ari’s vulnerability as she admits a truth that many find daunting to acknowledge, both to others and to themselves. Through her music, Ari channels a delicate balance between dark sonic sounds and a light, feminine energy lyrically and vocally, reflecting the duality of her artistic persona.
“Innocent” is not only a testament to Ari’s artistry but also a declaration of her commitment to authenticity and self-expression. An instant earworm layered and narrative, “Innocent” solidifies Ari’s place as an emerging voice in pop music.
