JIM CUDDY RELEASES SIXTH SOLO ALBUM “ALL THE WORLD FADES AWAY”

Jim Cuddy has released his new album, All The World Fades Away. The new album, Cuddy’s sixth solo effort, sees the legendary songwriter making the most of a rare abundance of time to reflect, tinker, and create, drawing from his decades of experiences with an eye for appreciating the journey life has given him.

A highlight from the new album comes in the track “Impossible.” Of the heartfelt track, Cuddy says “The story behind ‘Impossible’ starts with John Mann (Spirit of the West), who tragically died of Alzheimer’s in his fifties, and his wife Jill Daum. Their son lived through some personal challenges, and for a time was unhoused. As a parent, you are only as happy as your least happy child, and seeing their unhappiness, rootlessness, and homelessness would be incredible pressure. I wrote this for Jill to share with her, as a parent, that whatever your child does, your love for them is rock solid and enduring, and that the idea of turning your back on them is impossible.” Watch the official video for “Impossible” here.

In addition to the new music, Jim Cuddy has announced a full slate of Canadian tour dates, running from June through December of 2024 that will take him from coast to coast. Tickets are available via JimCuddy.com. Select tour dates will include a digital album of All The World Fades Away with the purchase of a ticket. See below for a full list of dates, or visit JimCuddy.com.

The prolonged gestation of the three years in the making All The World Fades Away helps explain Cuddy’s reflective mindset. Hitting pause on his solo album, Cuddy took time to record and tour with Blue Rodeo. However, in the summer of 2023, Cuddy got the band back together at The Woodshed Studio to complete the album. Co-producers Tim Vesely (Rheostatics) and Colin Cripps – also on guitar – were joined by drummer Joel Anderson, bassist Bazil Donovan, violinist Anne Lindsay, keyboardist Steve O’Connor, and a marquee roster of guests including vocalist Jenn Grant.

As a solo artist and as one of the creative forces in Blue Rodeo, Jim Cuddy has received nearly every accolade Canada can bestow upon a musician including 15 JUNO Awards, and The Order of Canada. Along with his bandmates in Blue Rodeo, Cuddy has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, received the Governor General Performing Arts Award, and a Star on the Walk of Fame. This fall, Cuddy will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame with his longtime bandmate Greg Keelor.
