ELLEN DOTY ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM EVERY LITTLE SCENE + SHARES TITLE TRACK
Soulful singer-songwriter Ellen Doty today announces her new album Every Little Scene set for release on June 14th. To celebrate the announcement Ellen shares the album’s title track, a song about being grateful for the little things in life. “Every Little Scene” reflects on the importance of taking the time to notice everyday moments that are both mundane and beautiful.
Speaking on the single Ellen says,
“Our world often revolves around how busy we are, and how many things we can pack into each day. “Every Little Scene” is a reminder to slow down and savor what and who you hold dearly.”
The track was written by Ellen Doty, Kate Stevens, and TAYLR with a gorgeous, floating string arrangement by Mark Limacher and engineered by Eric Cinnamon.

“Easy listening feels like an insult when it comes to music, but it shouldn’t be. I want putting on this record to be a salve. A moment you take for yourself to reflect and feel at ease,” says Ellen.
The inspiration behind her latest album comes from the precipice of change in Ellen’s life: she wrote and recorded much of the album while pregnant with her first child. Entering this new era, Ellen is nostalgic, introspective, and filled with every emotion, which she pours into each of the 12 new, original songs.
Born and raised in southern Alberta, Ellen currently lives in Edmonton and represents Canada on the world stage, from performing at the Tokyo Jazz Festival to opening for Grammy award-winning artists Gregory Porter and Lisa Fischer. Every Little Scene follows her 2018 album Come Fall which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Jazz chart and Ellen was featured in CBC’s Top 35 under 35 Jazz Musicians.
Every Little Scene was recorded at Department 9 Studio in Edmonton, Alberta with producer and longtime collaborator Efa Etoroma Jr. The album was engineered by Stew Kirkwood (strings were engineered by Eric Cinnamon), mixed by Joshua Van Tassel, and mastered by Heather Kirby.
Every Little Scene is set for release on June 14th.
