On April 4th in St. John’s, Newfoundland a frenzied crowd started forming a line outside Mary Browns Center to get a taste of “The Good Life”. Unfortunately, the thousands of fans waiting for Lil TJay to kick off his new tour on the East Coast of Canada had to wait one more day. The “Beat the Odds” rapper hailing from Bronx, New York postponed his concert until the following day due to a diverted flight that landed him on the other side of the province.
A new line formed on the following day and fans packed Mary Browns Center eager to take in the Billboard charting face of modern New York Hip Hop.
Kalan FrFr was the lone opening act warming the East Coast crowd with West Coast Hip Hop. Performing a number of his latest tracks fans got an impromptu meet and greet after he jumped the barrier joining the screaming fans who swarmed around him.

As the lights went low and smoke started filling the stage, Lil TJay greeted the sea of illuminated phones with a smile on his face. Screams rang out and the crowd felt the bass as Lil TJay rhymed through his catalogue of street raps and melodic flows. Making sure to give the fans everything they’ve waited for on the opening night of “The Good Life” tour Lil TJay hit everything from “Sex Sounds” to “FN”, “Zoo York” and “Mood Swings”. No tracks seemed to be left behind. St. John’s is often starved of bigger hip-hop acts due to the inconvenient location of the province which makes tour stops difficult. Lil TJay fed the city and fans with an energetic performance bringing a large-scale stadium hip hop show to the province leaving us with a taste of “The Good Life”.
