Sarah Siddiqui Shares New Single, “Saturn” from Upcoming EP
Sarah Siddiqui has unveiled her single, “Saturn,” which is the first of 4 more singles to be released, then an EP in October.
She is an alt-folk-soul Toronto-based established singer-songwriter with a discography spanning since 2000… playing live since 1995. Her voice and songs have been described as stunning, poetic, and haunting.
The powerful lyrical visuals Sarah creates through her songs reflect poetic and vulnerable lyrics about her personal experiences with mental health, heartbreak, grief, and spirituality. Her songs have also been placed in feature films. To add, she had the fortune of getting cast by Danny Devito to play a guitarist role in the feature film “Death to Smoochy” in 2002.
Her 2018 album, No More Waiting Rooms was self-produced and received funding from the Toronto Arts Council recording grant program.
“I’m so excited to release “Saturn”. I wrote it during the pandemic. It was just that kind of vulnerable moment where I felt something come over me lyrically and melodically at once. “Saturn” isn’t about heartbreak or love or sadness, it’s about my soul’s yearning to connect with the universe literally and metaphorically where I’m turning into stars, water, saturn.. it’s all one. It’s about one stream of energy from life to death and beyond. We’re not our bodies… we’re souls and stars and dust.”
