Canada’s two-time JUNO nominee, best-selling author Jason Wilson scores video premiere for “Coal Dust Caruso”
Toronto’s own singer, songwriter, and multi-award-winning artist, Jason Wilson shared his video for his soul-stirring track “Coal Dust Caruso” from his acclaimed folk/roots album Ashara. Don’t miss the release of this third single on April 26, 2024, via Wheel Records/Proper Music Distribution.
Jason Wilson states,
“With this album ‘Ashara,’ I chose to explore the breadth and depth of my Ayrshire roots. There is a sequential arc to the album in that each song represents a season of one’s life. The project was kick-started when I began to digitize my father’s amazing 8mm films, which he began taking in Scotland in 1960. And the first track ‘Coal Dust Caruso’ is about working-class life and wanting something better. It is my memories mixed with my dad’s films, mixed with what I know of Ayrshire, going back hundreds of years.”
The single was produced by Jason Wilson and recorded at Valley Road Studio and Canterbury Studios in Ontario, Canada, with mastering by Mars Giammarco at Red Egg Studio. Featuring Wilson on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and piano, along with Laurel Tubman, Marcus Ali, Carl Harvey, Vince Reel, Michael Shapinko, and Patrice Barbanchon.
