Chris Buck shares new single, “Cowboy Boots”

Two-stepping It Back to the ‘90s, Chris Buck Teams Up With Gord Bamford on “Cowboy Boots”

The Chris Buck Band is throwing it back – to a golden era that changed country music forever. With a nod to the ‘90s, Chris Buck partners up with Gord Bamford on the toe-tapping new track, “Cowboy Boots,” available now via Sakamoto Music

Buck’s inspiration stemmed from his roots, leading to this electrifying collaboration with Bamford, one of the most awarded artists in Canadian country music history.

Securing Bamford for the song was, well, as simple as asking. After writing “Cowboy Boots,” Buck said to his producer, the Grammy-nominated Matt McClure, “wouldn’t this be an even greater song if we got Gord Bamford on it?”

“One thing led to another and I’m beyond grateful to have Gord on board,” says Buck. “He fits this song perfectly; it was meant to be.”

“Cowboy Boots” signals the start of a new era for Chris Buck, who took a brief hiatus from music to contemplate his next steps. His objective with “Cowboy Boots” and the forthcoming releases that will follow, was not to try and replicate the past, but rather to recapture the feeling he had growing up listening to timeless tunes.

“I hate to say it but I had to take some time off to figure out what I wanted to do creatively to fill my soul again,” says Buck. “I fell in love with country music because of Alan Jackson, Steve Earle and Garth Brooks, and now I am putting my own touch on it. A year ago, I started writing barn-burners and toe-steppers. It just feels right to me and I reignited my passion for creating music.”

As proud as Buck is about his new music, he’s even prouder about another change. He not only had to redefine his approach to music but also to life itself.

“I have been sober for over a year now. I’ve never felt better and can’t remember a year I have worked so hard at something.”

Buck is gearing up for a busy summer of touring, and recently unveiled the inaugural Boots ‘N Boats singer-songwriter festival, a one-of-a-kind musical experience that mixes the honky-tonks with the tranquility of the lake, set to take place June 21-23 in Lake Country, BC.
