RUBY WATERS ANNOUNCES TORONTO SHOW AT DANFORTH MUSIC HALL TO CELEBRATE RELEASE
JUNO Award-nominated, alternative artist Ruby Waters is set to release her first full-length album, What’s The Point, on May 31st. To celebrate the release of the album, Waters has also announced a headlining show at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, on May 30th.
Waters dives deep introspectively on What’s The Point and has put together a collection of songs that are the most authentically her and explores themes of acceptance, love, sadness, sex, and more. Written over the past year and a half, Waters rented a cabin and built a studio in it with some pals. The cabin is a special place for Waters and has been the birthplace for other songs she’s written, like the previously released “Harder” (2022) and “Open Arms” (2022). Recorded in Whistler, Squamish, and Toronto, the album was produced by Sam Willows (The Beaches, MICO, and previous bodies of Waters’ work), with tracks on it produced by Harper, TJ Whitlaw, and Mido.
“This album was mostly written in a cabin just off the sea to sky highway. It is about coming to terms with never knowing the real meaning of life, while accepting all the ups and downs that come with it,” shares Waters. “Being angry. Being happy. Being thankful. Moving on. Remembering. Letting go. All of it!”
Tickets for the What’s The Point album release party will go on sale at 12:00 PM EST on Friday, April 5, and can be purchased HERE. In addition to the Toronto show, Waters has headlining dates in Portland, Seattle, and Subaru Winterfest in Bend, Oregon this month and is headed to Europe for a headlining tour and festival dates in June.
