NEW ALBUM, DEL HORIZONTE OUT APRIL 26
Québec’s own Boogát announces the next single, “Siempre Bailo” in anticipation of his forthcoming album, Del Horizonte, out on April 26.
The track’s title, “Siempre Bailo”, translates to “I still dance”. In Boogát’s words,
“Dancing is a human practice present in all cultures. It can express all feelings: joy, sadness, and so on. You can dance in any temperature, from Antarctica’s cold to tropical heat. Dancing is a party but also therapy that saves people and cultures every day, just like music.”
In Spanish, French or English, Boogát raps and sings the universality of cultural minorities exploring themes related to identity, migration, belonging and love through thought-provoking lyrics that bounce between seriousness and humour.
Boogát is one of the blue chips of the Canadian Global Music scene, with an innovative proposition that is always a party starter. His unique blend of styles, mixing hip-hop with modern Latin-American music, electronica, and more traditional genres has made his global renown with constant touring, nonstop collaborations, and numerous accolades & awards (Junos, Felix, Gamiq, etc.)
His next record, Del Horizonte, addresses the subjects of decolonization, subversion, and immigration and has collaborations with El Dusty, Mateus Vidal (Olodum), DJ Shub, Okan, Tannergaard, Ahmed Moneka, Waahli, Diogo Ramos, Maï, Classic Roots and Mestre Pato (T Dot Batu).
