Ryan Wayne Shares “No Easy Way Out” Ahead of Upcoming Album
Accomplished Americana/roots-rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Wayne releases the new single “No Easy Way Out” from his upcoming sophomore album coming out later in 2024. Following on the heels of his widely acclaimed debut album Crow Amongst The Sparrows, the new single will be out on April 5th on all major platforms, but all of you get a special first listen!
Riding on the arch and sway of chiming electric guitars, with an immediate singalong chorus, and excellent trumpet and violin solos (from Teppei Kamei and Jean-Paul Desaulniers, respectively), “No Easy Way Out” offers a meditative look at the ravages of war – from the sad parting of loved ones joining the fray, to the bedlam of the battlefield, to the risk of mortality.
“‘No Easy Way Out’ has been a song of many lives, starting as a guitar part that my old friend and collaborator, Patrick Gamsby came up with over 20 years ago,” says Wayne. “Ten years later, it re-surfaced on a tour of Western Canada. We were staying in a beautiful farmhouse, somewhere in Alberta, on a day off. During a jam, Bryan Butler, who was touring with our band (The Warped 45s), contributed some additional ideas. But, again it disappeared, until a few months back when a story about a war-torn couple led to some lyrics that just seemed to fit right into the chord structure.”
