Marble Ghosts – Five Questions With

Marble Ghosts Share Debut Self-titled EP

Recently emerging onto the Canadian metal scene with a distinctive sound and a fierce commitment to challenging societal norms, Ottawa’s Marble Ghosts have unveiled their self-titled EP.

Despite being a relatively new band, Marble Ghosts demonstrates a clear musical direction. Their first EP showcases five compelling songs that highlight their diverse influences and styles. As a band, they embrace generational differences, allowing their music to evolve organically as they grow more comfortable with each other.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

We are Marble Ghosts, a four-piece hard rock band from Ottawa/Gatineau. A death metal drummer, an old-school metal bassist, a singer heavily influenced by 90s grunge, and a metalcore guitar player, Marble Ghosts blends genres and generations. We are unapologetic in our lyrical approach, the band pushing boundaries by excoriating traditional power structures, affirming the importance of speaking truth to power.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

‘Old School’ dropped on January 12, 2024. The song is a thrash punk medley with a biting, unforgettable chorus that acts as an anthem for the disaffected who are tired of being ruled by a vocal religious minority.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

We are opening for The Lazys at The 27 Club in Ottawa on February 29th, 2024. We’ll be joined as well by Taming Sari. It will also be our EP release show. The EP will be released at midnight on March 1, 2024.

If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?

We’d love to work with some local Ottawa bands like Cevilian and Cynical Sons. We’d also love to get on a bill with Canadian legends Billy Talent, their energy and musicianship is incredible.

What’s your goal for 2024?

We will write and record a second 5-track EP. We would also like to play dates outside of our hometown and play a few festivals.
