Tell us a bit about your recent release.
My most recent album was released in 2021, The Rebirth MMXX, 90s-inspired Rnb music
It’s now at 3M streams. But at the moment I’m promoting my new Residency.
My new Band Soul Nostalgic, launching on February 15th. A new Vegas-style residency at Acqua Supper Club in Toronto. Full live band, we do RNB / throwbacks with full choreography in black and white tuxedos, Something Brand new for the city.
How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?
Yes, usually the process is that me and my Producer will discuss what vibe I feel like writing about, and he’ll start producing a beat and I’ll go into the booth and freestyle an idea. After that I’ll come out listen to what I freestyled and place in the lyrics, the process is very natural. It’s almost like the song writes itself.
Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?
Yes, as I move forward promoting the residency, my plan is to target casinos, private events, and resorts from here to Miami, Las Vegas, New York, etc. There’s a big possibility My next album will be a R&B throwback cover album from the songs that I have in my residency.
Looking back on your musical career, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?
Yes, a big turning point in my music career was when my former group In Essence won a JUNO award for best R&B soul recording of the year 2004 and we are still known as the-most influential Canadian RNB Group of all time.
