Tonight, US rapper Mick Jenkins set a sold-out Beanfield Theater on fire! The evening started with Toronto’s very own TOBi, who impressed the crowd with his smooth flows and set all-around great vibes in front of a growing crowd!
Shortly after 9pm, Mick Jenkins arrived in front of a packed audience. While he played in town a lot when he first started (as he told the crowd, his manager is from Montreal), it had been a while since we last caught him in town! Osheaga 2019 to be exact, and so his tour being named “Thank you for waiting” hit hard with fans in the audience tonight! Mick’s set was absolutely solid, with a mix of his unique deep voice, hard-hitting lyrics and non-stop bar-spitting. A great masterclass of a different kind of hip-hop: one that’s less violent, more groovy, and hits the spot juuuust right on a Monday night!
