JUNO-Award nominated roots-rock outfit The Devin Cuddy Band officially released their long-awaited album Dear Jane on November 3, 2023. The album launch kicked off with a sold-out performance at the iconic Cameron House in Toronto.

Five years in the making, the record solidifies Cuddy’s place as a roots rock and country performer, who became a fixture in the Canadian live music scene with his evocative storytelling and unapologetic style. Produced by Chris Stringer, Dear Jane masterfully marries Cuddy’s passion for New Orleans-style blues with the unmistakable influence of Canadiana-rock, pick up during his early years on the road.

The album opens with a dynamic cover of Barney Bentall’s hit, “Come Back to Me,” featuring the legend himself. From there, the nine-track collection takes listeners on a journey through captivating stories that span different eras and walks of life. From the heart-wrenching title track to the unbridled hope of “She Loved Me,” Cuddy crafts a vibrant spectrum of relatable moments. The gospel-like crescendo of “Hold On Tight” and the charming “Unemployabill” add to the album’s eclectic storytelling, all connected by a cohesive musical thread.

Written on both sides of the pandemic, Cuddy shares the challenges of bringing this album to life during periods of isolation,

I am inspired by people’s stories, their lives and the interaction of sharing those things, and without that, my creative output was next to nothing. So in a way, this record is an homage to that feeling and that process of writing. It is a roadmap to the people and places I get to experience playing music and traveling for a living.
