SOM, the atmospheric doom rock band, opened the show with a dark, spacey, melancholic sound that was the perfect pairing for Katatonia. Tonally, they were in the same field and likely to make fans out of Katatonia fans.

Gost was next in the lineup and completely subverted the crowd’s expectations. The venue felt like a John Wick fight scene thanks to their thumping, unique sound, electronic drums, synths, and bass-heavy tracks.

Katatonia, the Swedish metal band, set up the dark, moody atmosphere shrouded in smoke to complement their poetic doom metal songs from their latest release, Sky Void of Stars, as well as beloved songs like “My Twin” from The Great Cold Distance.
