Black Veil Brides return to the Grey Eagle Event Centre in Calgary Alberta on October 12, 2023, and this time, they brought with them a 2000’s iconic rock singer from Finland, as well as an up-and-coming band from Orlando Florida.

Opening the night of hard rock was Dark Divine, who have been making waves on Sirius Octane with their new single Paper Crown. Following the release of their debut album “Deadly Fun”, their set consisted of their single “Halloween Town” as well as “Paper Crown” plus some of their new songs that have the power of becoming performance staples. The crowd was behind this group of young guys and I am sure we will continue watching them grow.

Next up was Ville Valo, the singer from the 2000s Finish rock band HIM who released his new album this year, Neon Noir. His setlist consisted of a mixture of his solo efforts like “Loveletting”, “Run Away From the Sun”, “Neon Noir”, and “The Foreverlost”. For the diehard fans of his songwriting, Ville Valo also through in some of the hits he wrote while with HIM like “Rip. Out the Wings of a Butterfly” “Soul on Fire” and “Right Here In My Arms.”

After a quick tear down, the anticipation from the crowd for Black Veil Brides was building. Starting the set was their latest single “Crimson Skies” before heading into the back catalogue of hits like “Rebel Love Song”, “Wake Up”, and “Nobody’s Hero”. During their song “The Legacy”, Andy had to stop the show due to a medical emergency in the middle of the pit. Moments like this shows how empathetic and appreciative these musicians are towards their fan. He also was handing security water to rush to the patron who needed help.

After a brief stoppage, the show picked up with “Knives and Pens” and ended with “Fallen Angels” and “In The End”. Black Veil Brides bringing Ville Valo and Dark Divine on tour made sure it was a night to remember for new and young fans as well as the most veteran fans of these groups.
